Shenzhen Archive Towers is awarded an AIA Chicago Award of Design Excellence.  The prestigious yearly awards program honors notable achievements in architecture, interiors, and urban design, and culminates with the spectacular Chicago Design Night awards program.  jaeger&partner and design consultant SA_I were recognized for  the design of the Shenzhen Archive Towers in the Un-Built Design category.

The design features four iconic volumes embraced by an elevated and thus permeable block, which defines an internal landscape – an escape from city into garden.  The three central towers’ design references the distinct form of traditional Chinese pagodas which historically stored ancient scrolls.  The jurors highlighted the multi-layered urban design approach which engenders communicative qualities.
